    Business Food For Thought...
For The Love of Solving Problems
I don't know when curiosity took over. I grew up a fairly normal kid in a fairly normal family. I can remember taking things apart to see how they worked. Rarely did I get them back to working order afterwards. Sometime in late elementary or early middle school I built a telegraph station for a science project from an old board, a hinge, a bolt, a spool of wire, and a Coke can cut down to use as a switch to close the circuit.
Do the smart thing, not the easy thing: hire diverse teams
During the first 20 years of my career, I rarely wrote or spoke about diversity. The focus of my work was primarily on healthcare and leadership transformation. However, as I took over the leadership of our UK and Ireland office in 2014, I knew I would get asked about diversity. Does diversity really matter for a company's financial performance? If so, how?
What Really Happens When You Hire the Wrong Candidate
No business owner wants to hire the wrong person for a job. Not only because they'll need to find a replacement candidate sooner than they'd like but also because making a bad hire drains energy and time and can cost a business in a number of ways.
