The Book Club Play
The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre proudly announces the regional non-equity premier of the comedy The Book Club Play written by Karen Zacarias and directed by Dena Dunn. Run dates are April 29-May 15 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Funny and relatable come to mind when describing this play. Book clubs are ubiquitous these days and their members are fiercely loyal and committed. Critics have called The Book Club Play a comedy of ?modern literary manners.? These six men and women struggle hilariously through new challenges to the group dynamic: how to behave when the hostess decides to video-record the meetings; how to react when a new person joins the club unvetted and turns the reading list topsy-turvy; how to cope when a longtime member makes an unsettling self-discovery. This is an engaging, witty, modern-day comedy from an exciting new playwright. GLCT is located at 160 W. Main St. in Old Town Lewisville. The entrance and parking are in the rear off of Elm Street. Tickets for The Book Club Play are $18 for adults and $16 for 65 & over or 18 & under. Call for reservations (recommended) at (972) 221-SHOW (7469).
