History and Purpose
Leadership
Lewisville is a community leadership development program sponsored by the
Lewisville Chamber of Commerce. The course was created in 1986 to identify,
educate, develop, and motivate future leaders for community involvement by
exposing them to the realities, opportunities and problems of our civic and
business community.
Program participants commit
to becoming familiar with Lewisville and the issues that confront our city
and our county. With the phenomenal growth our area is experiencing comes a
multitude of challenges as well as opportunities. Our ability to meet these
challenges is dependent on individuals who will assume positions of civic,
community and government leadership.
The Leadership Lewisville
program provides the foundation of knowledge and the tools necessary to
ensure that our potential leaders understand the issues and actively
participate in activities which contribute to the growth and betterment of
the Lewisville community.
OBJECTIVE:
The objectives of the Leadership Lewisville program are
to provide for:

Participants
Through Leadership Lewisville, the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce is
committed to providing a training program for future community leaders for
Lewisville and the surrounding area. Class members are chosen for the
opportunity to explore the inner-workings of the government, educational system,
economic development, private and non-profit organizations of Lewisville, as
well as county and state level government. The insight they gain is meant to
serve as a foundation for their long-term involvement in the Lewisville
community, ideally in leadership roles.
